Exhibiting in the Blackfoot Communications Gallery

The ZACC is thrilled to present works by Hannah Kautto in the Blackfoot Communications Gallery throughout the month of April. Works are available for purchase, and the artist will be present at the opening reception.

ABOUT THE ART
“My work occupies the line between functional and sculptural ceramics. I invoke questions about identity and human relationships. In my work, I often depict the human face to captivate the narrative of human emotion and body language. I am interested in people's social norms and how we interact with one another. We live in a time with an overwhelming abundance of information. Elements of my work are highly decorated with bright colors and over-the-top sensory overload. My work is intentionally overwhelming and awkward and is a direct response to the environment around me and how I feel. I approach my work with a playful and whimsical aesthetic.”

ABOUT THE ARTIST
