WE'RE HIRING SUMMER AMERICORP VISTAS!
The ZACC is recruiting classroom visual art and rock camp assistants through the AmeriCorps Vista Summer Associate Program! This is a community service oriented position designed around the ZACC’s series of arts based summer programming for Missoula youth. The Summer Associates who join the ZACC for our 10 weeks of summer camps this year will be expected to assist our camp instructors in the classroom and music studio by helping to prepare for and deliver art and music lessons in a variety of mediums. Our visual arts camps encompass an array of themes from recycled material murals to a week based entirely on glitter. Our music camps follow a central curriculum designed to enable youth of all experience levels to form a band, write a song, and learn the arrangement over five full camp days before a live performance on the final afternoon. The visual arts and rock camp positions are separate but may intersect, circumstances depending. Both areas are a full-time, 40 hour a week community service position from 8AM to 4PM, Monday through Friday. The term of service begins on June 5th and ends on August 13th. Experience working with youth and in the visual arts or musical arts is encouraged. While the Summer Associate will be working on-site at the ZACC, the position is funded through AmeriCorps and comes with the following benefits:
• A bi-weekly living stipend of $675 (pre-tax)
• A Segal Education Award of $1,459.26 to repay qualified student loans or to pay current educational expenses at eligible institutions of higher education and training programs OR an End of Service Cash Award of $345.80.
• A community service position with the AmeriCorps Summer Vista program is an excellent way to show future employers or educational institutions a drive for community wellness, compassion, and work ethic. Spend your summer with us at the ZACC and assist with our summer programs that are designed to increase confidence, creativity, social responsibility, and community investment--all things that are proven to increase youth's chances at pursuing a college education.
