REGGIE HERBERT | Board Member
Reggie Herbert dove into the deep end of Missoula's performing arts scene when he moved here in 2009 and still hasn't come up for air.
Reggie earned his MFA in theatre from the University of Montana, where he taught as an adjunct instructor. While he loves to act and direct, he attended graduate school for his love of teaching. As a blind artist, his drive for access to his art forms led him to found A Quantum Dream (AQD), a small, non-profit theatre company and arts accessibility advocacy organization. AQD produces contemporary science-fiction theatre and provides accessibility consulting services as well as audio descriptions for blind and low-vision audiences.
Reggie began playing in punk rock bands as a teenager in Billings, Montana, and his enduring passion for music has kept him active in Missoula's underground and DIY music scene as both a performer and promoter. If you like heavy and beautiful, loud and aggressive, he'd probably love to be in a band with you.
Reggie is the vice president of the Performing Arts Division of the National Federation of the Blind, a board member of the Montana Affiliate of the National Federation of the Blind and the president of the Missoula chapter of the National Federation of the Blind, as well as a peer advocate at Summit Independent Living Center. He also is a substitute high school teacher.
Somewhere in there, he likes to play table-top role-playing games and find adventure with his partner, Meg.
