ART LOUNGE

The Art Lounge features lots of opportunities to develop your creativity and expand your imagination at no cost. The First Security Bank's Totally Free Art Supply Closet is an incredible free resource for community members and travelers alike. Anyone is welcome to use the supplies in the Art Supply Closet during our hours of operation and hang out and make art at one of the tables in the lounge but please be respectful of the space and follow our rules of use (link).

The First Security Bank's Totally Free Art Supply Closet relies on donations from community members to keep it stocked and ready for use. Do you have gently used art supplies you would like to donate? We accept the following list of supplies (make list). Supplies may be dropped off on (decide on day) between 12pm and 3pm. Please do not drop off donations at any other time as we need to make sure we have someone on site to accept and organize them.

The Art Lounge also features the Bill and Rosemary Gallagher Foundation Interactive Youth Play Area. This fun space designed by local artist, Jack Metcalf, houses lots of creative opportunities to play, connect, and create for our younger visitors.

The Art Lounge also features rotating art work by local artists, our youth gallery, an art vending machine, fun murals and plenty chairs and tables for socializing.

Art influences us in profound ways, and grows our ability for self-expression. With practice in art, we lay the groundwork for thinking in philosophy, design, architecture, mathematics, physics, engineering, and the list goes on and on. When creating art, children develop greater self-esteem and individualism, realizing their own sense of uniqueness. When creating art, adults remember what it’s like to be a child, and open themselves up to new possibilities. Or Art Lounge nurtures this necessity of human civilization by making art experiences accessible to anyone and everyone.
