Our signature fundraising banquet and art auction, the ZACC Mini Show, is one of the most creative and well-attended art events in Western Montana. Each year, a sold-out crowd enjoys a cocktail hour and catered dinner, a silent and live auction of small and large artworks by well-known regional artists, a dessert auction of delicious, artistic treats by Missoula’s favorite professional pastry chefs, and music and dancing the cap it off. Attendees often dress in theme, and this year we chose the nostalgic and fantastically diverse theme of ‘Make It Pop!’ – so we can’t wait to see what folks choose to wear! Guests at the 11th Annual Mini Show will experience a room filled with pop culture references, from music, to visual art, to food, to poppy Americana.
The dessert auction has come to be one of the most fun and fruitful parts of the event, raising much needed funds to keep us operating. On the night of the event, dessert submissions from local chefs will be sampled by a panel of Missoula celebrity judges who will determine a winner based on presentation, taste, and overall miniature creativity. After the judging, all desserts will be auctioned off, with much publicity and celebration, to our guests in support of the ZACC.
HOW IT WORKS
We ask that you please create two baker’s dozen mini-desserts arranged on two platters, and deliver them to the Wilma no later then 4pm the night of the event. One serving from each baker’s dozen will be reserved for the celebrity panel to judge. After a winner is determined, desserts will be auctioned off to tables of delighted guests. First place, second place, and third place winners will receive bragging rights in addition to a beautifully designed certificate suitable for framing and will be featured on our website and social media platforms.
