DAPHNE BRAUN, J.D. | Board President
Daphne Braun is a Missoula-based educational consultant and former school leader with a background as a professional performing artist. She is the founder and director of Elska Consulting, LLC, an inclusive college counseling practice that combines strategic planning with deep student support for students of all income levels. Daphne brings over two decades of experience in education, communications, and organizational leadership, having served as Co-Director and Academic Director at Sussex School and as an adjunct professor in business law and professional writing.
Alongside her career in education, Daphne has performed professionally in both stage and television productions and brings this creative foundation to her work in student storytelling, communications coaching, and arts advocacy. Her international background includes teaching and living in Northern Ireland, Hungary, Moldova, Italy, and Switzerland, and she remains deeply committed to global perspectives in education and the arts.
Daphne currently serves as Board President of the Zootown Arts Community Center, where she champions the ZACC mission of community-driven arts access. She is a member of the New York Bar and the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC). Daphne holds a J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law and a B.S. in Social Policy from Northwestern University, where she also studied music. Daphne loves daily walks with her husband, Michael, spending time with her four children, and opportunities to enjoy the fine and performing arts.
