The ZACC is proud to present ‘Invisible Disabilities: Becoming Seen’ – A Visual Art Showcase brought to you by the Montana Art Therapy Association, in our Blackfoot Communications Gallery for the month of April, opening First Friday, April 7 from 5 to 8 PM.

ABOUT THE SHOW

In 2022, ZACC Print Shop Manager Patricia Thornton launched the idea of an art show surrounding the theme of unseen or invisible disabilities. Many of us walk through life with unspoken or unseen disabilities that affect our capacities to function fully each day. When the idea was presented to the Montana Art Therapy Association (MTATA), the group felt it was the perfect match for them, and decided to work with the ZACC to represent this idea through visual art. A few examples of invisible disabilities include depression, learning disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, and various forms of neurodiversity. There are many more examples, and we hope this show brings awareness to those of us who experience invisible disabilities – and that the stigma surrounding these struggles continues to decrease.
