The ZACC is thrilled to present ‘Garden Party’, works by Jules Lucero, in our Blackfoot Communications Gallery and ‘Phantom’ Gallery for the month of March, opening First Friday, March 3 from 5 to 8 PM.

ABOUT THE SHOW
In Jules’ own words “This collection of relief prints combine both methodical labor, as well as creative experimentation. I am drawn to carving animals because they hold the qualities of wonder and quaintness. This series presents not just an image, but a story, exploring a rabbit's relation to the environment. Montana and its wonderful creatures and vegetation offer an endless well of ideas for my work. These prints serve as a reflection of everyday valuable moments like gardening, baking and creating.”

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jules Lucero is a printmaker born in Great Falls, Montana. Lucero graduated from the University of Montana in 2020 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Painting and Drawing and a Minor in Art History and Criticism. After graduating Lucero worked on an OpenAIR residency in Philipsburg, Montana, where she continued to practice traditional printmaking techniques, during her time she began drawing her inspiration from the rich history of Montana, and printmaking.
