In Melanie’s words:
“The last year has been hard for everyone. The way I dealt with the fear and isolation was to explore color and line in an organic way. I didn't start with a preconceived notion for these drawings. I let whatever my hand and head felt lead the work. So, these are in a sense, drawings of my pandemic brainscape. I have always had a problem giving up on a drawing before it was done, but I had all the time in the world to spend on these. A few of the works are ones I started years ago, but now had the time and patience to finish.”

ABOUT MELANIE GARDNER
I am self taught in too many things to mention. Former farmer and fiber artist. Lately, rediscovering color on paper. Constantly blending media due to an incurable curiosity. I count things for a living.
