Last Best Print Fest 2022 kicks off on Friday, July 8, and it’s going to be amazing! We have a jam packed month of printmaking, with something for literally everyone. Interested in learning more about the fundamentals? Check out our free printmaking demos with talented printmakers like Delaney Wascherol, Bev Beck Glueckert, Christa Carleton, and our LBPF Featured Artist Jace Laakso. Love collecting prints? Visit our Main Gallery and view this year’s LBPF Auction Exhibition, with more than 50 prints in a wide variety of styles – all available to own via auction through our online platform. Want to get more engaged with the Missoula printmaking and art scene? Visit Noteworthy Paper & Press on Saturday, July 9, and Sunday, July 10, to pull a free LBPF-themed print on their vintage Vandercook Press. And head over to Western Sensibility, Montana’s first digital textile printing studio, for a tour of their space (2 PM and 4 PM on Saturday, July 23).
In addition to these printastic events, Last Best Print Fest Bingo will be running all month long. Grab a LBPF Bingo Card from the ZACC, or from one of our eight wonderful community partners – Art Attic, Betty’s Divine, Clyde Coffee, Frame of Mind, Le Petit Outre, the Montana Museum of Art & Culture (MMAC), Noteworthy Paper & Press, and Western Sensibility (at the Showroom in downtown Missoula). Each of these delightful locations is hosting a unique print by Jace Laakso. Visit each location to view the print and check out their space – and they’ll stamp your LBPF Bingo Card. Return completed Bingo Cards to the ZACC, and be entered in a drawing to win a FREE print by Jace!
We’ll be capping off this month-long printmaking extravaganza with a super fun, family friendly ‘Found Object Monoprint’ demonstration at 10 AM on Saturday, July 30. Jace’s demo is totally free, but registration is required – so don’t forget to sign-up online! We’ll also be choosing the LBPF Bingo Winner that afternoon, and holding a very printy garage sale, with printmaking items offered at heavily discounted rates (including a relief press, T-shirt press, filtration system, portable burning unit, and other printy oddities).
I LOVE PRINTMAKING, and I hope you’ll join me throughout the month of July in celebrating this versatile and delightful artform. I know that if you do, you’ll fall in love with printmaking, too.
Let’s get printing!
