The 2021 Mini Show would have already happened, were it not for the pandemic. Normally we host our largest annual fundraiser in late February or early March in the beautiful Wilma theater. But this year has shown that there is often strength in flexibility, and at the ZACC we’ve done our best to respond to each moment with as much intuition and ingenuity as possible. We knew that an indoor event this February was a non-starter, and we couldn’t bring ourselves to host another Mini Show entirely online. So we pushed the date, and secured a new venue, and planned an outdoor, socially-distanced event on Saturday, May 22 at Ten Spoon Winery. With more and more folks getting vaccinated in Montana, and restrictions slowly lifting, we hope that this year’s Mini Show will be an incredible social and creative experience for our community — and we absolutely cannot wait to share it with you!
In addition to the shift to an outdoor venue, we have changed the way our Mini Show auction will function, and we are excited to be able to include more people in the fun this year. The 2021 Mini Show silent auction will be viewable both in person (at the ZACC) and online, with all bidding occurring on our online platform. Even if you can’t attend the event, you’ll be able to bid on your favorite art from anywhere. And although bidding for the live auction will only happen at the in-person event, we are also able to take proxy bids for those pieces. The first ever outdoor Mini Show will also be the most inclusive Mini Show ever in terms of access to the art!
Tables are filling up very fast, and the event is almost sold out. Get a table soon if you want to come! But even if you can’t make it to the event, we hope you’ll come visit us for the opening of this year’s Mini Show art auction exhibition on May 7 (First Friday) from 5-8 PM. The show will also exhibit throughout the month, and will be live for bidding from May 7 until May 22!
With love, hope, and excitement for the future,
All of us at the ZACC
