 e/\n\nJohn Brownell is a long-time member of the local music scene. Starti
 ng in the early nineties\, he was the primary songwriter in Oblio Joes\, a
  band that lasted nearly 15 years. As a home recording enthusiast\, John r
 ecorded numerous other local bands under the DIY label Pink House Records.
  After joining Secret Powers in 2010\, the band recorded two albums\, one 
 of which won 'Best Album' in the Missoula Independent's 2012 Best of Misso
 ula issue. His current band\, Protest Kids\, released their first full-len
 gth\, We Have The Technology\, in 2018. More recently\, John has been reco
 rding and performing as a solo artist. In 2019\, he wrote and recorded a s
 ong every week for the entire year. Earlier this year\, he culled from tho
 se 52 songs his first solo album\, Repeat and Fade. You can hear these son

 teenth performance in our series — 'Social Distance Sessions' — a live-str
 eam production partnership between the ZACC and Missoula's Community Media
  Resource (MCAT). Shows will be streamed to the ZACC's Facebook and YouTub
 e\, and from MCAT's Local Live website. Home audience members are asked to
