 lm Festival (BSDFF) is  the largest documentary film festival in the Ameri
 can West and established as Montana’s premier cinema event. A program of t
 he non-profit Big Sky Film Institute\, the ambition of BSDFF is to bring s
 tories from around the world to our beautiful mountain town\, create a vib
 rant\, quality event that gathers our engaged community\, and expand the k
 nowledge and conversation around issues that matter.\n \nA prolific 10-day
  event held every February in Missoula’s historic theater The Wilma and ne
 ighboring venues\, BSDFF lights up western Montana with over 150 extraordi
 nary films from across the globe. Hundreds of filmmakers\, industry profes
 sionals\, and 20\,000 highly engaged filmgoers attend screenings\, live ev
 ents\, educational programs and film industry forums. Big Sky is an Academ
 y Award qualifying festival in the Short and Mini-Doc categories\, and has
  been selected four times for MovieMaker Magazine’s 50 Best Film Festivals
  Worth the Entry Fee.\n \nIn addition to screenings\, the Big Sky DocShop 
 is a five-day industry event that includes panels\, master classes\, works
 hops\, and The Big Sky Pitch Session. DocShop’s participants have included
