 tive writing is designed for writers between the ages of eight and twelve.
  Students will learn a different genre every day they attend (fiction\, po
 etry\, creative nonfiction) then spend the remaining weeks workshopping th
 eir work with one another. At the end of the course we will create an anth
 ology of students’ work. Writers will be in charge of designing the cover 
 and will have the opportunity to add any illustrations/other forms of visu
 al art if they wish. Classes will be spent briefly going over readings and
  examples of the genres. They will also include a mini lesson in which we 
 discuss what we can learn as writers from these resources/readings. Writin
 g prompts and activities (some small\, through the lesson and some larger 
 that will take up a larger part of the class session) will be completed in
  every class. Students will be sent home with optional prompts to work on 
 as well.
