d: Impressions of Montana Ghost Towns\, works by Kimberly Brown Campbell &
Sharon Van Landingham Davidson\, in the Blackfoot Communications Gallery
throughout September. Works are available for purchase\, and the artist wi
ll be present at the opening reception. \n\nABOUT THE ART: KIM BROWN CAMP
BELL \nSharon and I began this process in 2019 after she completed a serie
s of intuitive paintings from photographs of the Eastern State Penitentiar
y in Philadelphia.  We both completed intuitive process pieces based on ph
otographs of Granite and Comet Ghost Towns in Montana.  The intuitive proc
ess of painting entails letting go of outcomes and painting for the joy of
painting and art making in general.  Having two artists complete painting
s simultaneously and comparing similarities and differences is an exciting
and novel process for us. \n\nABOUT THE ARTIST: KIM BROWN CAMPBELL \nKim
Brown Campbell lives with her husband\, Duncan\, and two cats in Missoula\
, Montana. She holds a BA in painting and printmaking\, an MA in art thera
py\, and a Doctorate in Counselor Education. \n\nShe enjoys many art forms
including printmaking\, painting\, mixed media work\, and building assemb
lages. Kim has worked as an art therapist in various settings since 1996 a
nd in mental health since 1991. \n\nABOUT THE ART: SHARON VAN LANDINGHAM D
AVIDSON \nInspiration\, intuition and transformation are the themes that h
ave evolved in my art. I came to art therapy during an illness that left m
e filled with anxiety and confusion over my then state of mental and physi
cal health. \n\nWorking with art therapist\, Dr. Kim Brown Campbell\, has
helped me work through those issues and discover that my creative experien
ce and expression can best be served by an intuitive art process. I can fr
eely create and feel joy in the process\, letting go of expectations and l
ooking to reveal with paint an experience or image that has inspired me.
\n\nThe inner story brought to light by the process is at once gratifying
and startling as layers of paint reeal a new image. I am grateful to have
the opportunity to continue to explore this process of art making with the
support of my art therapist and an art community that empowers me. \n\nAB
OUT THE ARTIST: SHARON VAN LANDINGHAM DAVIDSON\nSharon Van Landingham Davi
dson received her Art degree from the University of Montana where she stud
ied painting\, ceramics\, and printmaking. She works in many media with he
r main interest in cold wax/ oil painting.\n\nWorking with an art therapis
t\, Sharon explores the intuitive creative process\, layering color and te
xtures\, pattern and glazes to achieve a work that expresses inner emotion
s and evokes memory and experiences. Sharon’s art has shown throughout Mon
tana. Her most recent shows include Missoula Art Museums 2023 Benefit Auct
 ion\, “Honoring Artists”\, Frame of Mind’s International Art Exhibition\,
