X-WR-CALDESC:Gallery Opening on First Friday\, February 2\, 5-8 PM \nExhibi
ting in the Youth Gallery \n\nThe ZACC is so excited to present 'Tiny Worl
ds’\, works by Thunder G. West\, opening in the Youth Gallery on First Fri
day\, February 2\, from 5-8 PM\, and exhibiting throughout the month of Fe
bruary. Works are available for purchase\, and the artist will be present
at the opening reception. \n\nABOUT THE ART \nI like making small\, magica
l worlds that give you a sense of how small things really get. Nature insp
ires me to make things that are natural\, but then I modify them to make c
ooler things. \n\nIn Tiny Worlds\, I create things that really inspire me
: a small Ocean World that has a bunch of cool sea creatures\, a Mushroom
World that has a bunch of little mushroom houses and frog people\, and a B
ug World that has a frog's shop\, a bunch of little bugs\, and places wher
e they can hide. People who view my art can take pieces home with them\, w
hichever they desire\, and I hope it brings joy into their households.
\n\nps. Turtles are my favorite animal. If you take home any piece that in
volves a turtle\, I will donate a portion of the profits to a conservancy
for sea turtles. \n\nABOUT THE ARTIST \nThunder G. West has been making a
rt for nearly a decade. He has been taking classes at the ZACC for many ye
ars\, doing lots of clay\, sewing\, and drawing. His teacher Nikki has esp
ecially helped him grow his skills and confidence. He constantly does art
at home and loves to do crafts with his friends.
