n the Main Gallery on First Friday\, February 2\, from 5-8 PM\, and exhibi
ting throughout the month of February. Works are available for purchase\,
and the artist will be present at the opening reception. \n\nABOUT THE ART
\n“Everything looks at everything\, everything lives the other\; in this
desert things know things. Things know things so much that that’s… that’s
what I’ll call forgiveness\, if I want to save myself in the human world.
It’s forgiveness itself. Forgiveness is an attribute of living matter.” \n
\nânâClarice Lispector \n\nThis body of work concludes my pregnancy and the
first two years of my daughter's life. For many years prior my work was mo
ving around ideas about inside/outside of the body\, the environment\, and
the mind. After giving birth I can see that these ideas do have a form. T
his series of drawings and weavings share a symbolic language of round int
eriority that builds in intensity\, spiraling both inwards and then\, out.
My hope is to express the soft roundness of that as love. \n\nThe majorit
y of these drawings are done on Stonehenge cotton paper with watercolor an
d colored pencil. The woven works are all natural fibers\, primarily Harri
sville wool tapestry yarn. \n\n“...love stories are stories of form\, and
that every act of solidarity is an act of sphere formation\, that is to sa
y the creation of an interior.” \n\n–Peter Sloterdijk \n\nABOUT THE ARTIS
