 s\, Birds\, & Modern Linear Oils’\, works by Laura Blue Palmer in our Blac
 kfoot Communications Gallery for the month of January\, opening First Frid
 ay\, January 6 from 5 to 8 PM. Laura was born and raised in Southwestern V
 irginia. She moved to Montana in 1994\, and studied fine art at the Univer
 sity of Montana in Missoula for two years. She completed her formal art ed
 ucation at the San Francisco Art Institute\, earning a BFA in 1999. She ha
 s a true passion for the wild spaces of the west\, and documents her exper
 iences of nature in evocative abstract landscapes.\n\nABOUT THIS SHOW\nIn 
 Laura’s words: “This is a collection of everything I make. My mind is engr
 ossed in the natural world. It is often jumping in genres while still embr
 acing my own subtle style in art making. I am known mostly for making expa
 nsive landscapes but often find myself wanting to use other parts of my br
 ain\, thus the modern linear oils in this exhibition.”
