ZACC is excited to present work by current University of Montana School o
f Art student Rhiannon R. Reddoor.\n\nIn Rhiannon's words: 'My artwork dis
played is the culmination of my art school years. My intention is to showc
ase my journey throughout mediums and subjects\, finding what felt importa
nt to express and talk about. We never usually get to see the behind the c
urtains or what's been left behind and thrown away. These years shaped me
and helped me cultivate the direction of my art. So before I go\, I wish t
o celebrate this finding of oneself. It’s messy\, it doesn’t always fit to
gether but there is a revelation towards the end that will be apparent.\n
\nWith the different mediums you’ll be able to see the ways my art changes
to suit it or what I keep the same throughout. You’ll see what I’m more e
quipped at and what my pitfalls are. The changes and improvement. The subj
ects I gravitate towards\, the serious impactful ones and the cathartic in
terests that are entertaining. My cultural identity as a Native American w
oman takes more of a spotlight to what I make but there are times where in
dulging in interests such as horror or gothic literature creates some uniq
ue pieces.\n\nTruthfully\, I didn’t want to be tied down by a central them
e and showing this intimate discovery felt more genuine to what I’ve been
going through. It’s not polished\, but it’s truthful. Selling this image o
f myself as always put together and knowing what I’ll make next is dishone
st. It’s a difficult time creating so I’d like to show you it’s okay to no
t have it all figured out and that you’ll eventually come into your own wi
 thin time.'
