y Center (ZACC) and the Missoula County Public Schools Fine Arts Departmen
t team up to showcase the Sixth Annual Missoula Monster Project!\n\nOrigin
ally conceived by nine year-old Asa Smetanka\, this show is a collaboratio
n between children and adult artists working together to create 'monster a
rt' based on monsters dreamed up by the children. The 2020 school closures
prevented us from moving forward as usual\, so this years project is a bi
t different. We opened the call to Kindergarten classes from all Missoula
County public\, private\, and home schools. 76 Kindergarten children respo
nded and created original monster drawings for artists to reimagine. To ac
commodate the large amount of artists who want to participate we will be s
haring monsters. Each monster will be distributed three times so that we w
ill have a total of 228 adult renditions of monsters. We are excited to se
e how different artists interpret the same monster!\n\nThis project’s purp
ose is to bring more art to Missoula youth! In an effort to foster that\,
100% of the earnings from this show will go towards ZACC's youth education
programs. We are asking that all artists who sign up donate 100% of the p
roceeds of their artwork. If you want to make a monster\, please submit be
fore August 1\, 2020. And this show tends to fill up fast\, so maybe don't
wait that long. Once you apply ZACC staff will send you an e-mail with a
jpeg of a participating child’s monster for you to interpret. Adult artist
s use their own unique style and medium to recreate the child's piece. The
