Our Mission

Cultivating community through accessible arts experiences for all.

Help Build Our Creative Community & Volunteer at the ZACC!

This community is so abundantly creative. Young and old, and everyone in between – there are so many different types of artists and art lovers in Missoula, and here at the ZACC we do our best to provide programming to fulfill as many creative endeavors as possible. From drop-in Paint-Your-Own Pottery every open hour of every day, to art and music camps and classes for both youth and adults, to our 100% public Laura Grace Barrett Print Shop, to multiple performances in a variety of genres every single week in our venue, The Show Room, the ZACC has something for everyone.

And with so many different types of programming happening every week at the ZACC, we also have a HUGE variety of volunteer opportunities! We would honestly be lost without our volunteers, who help us with everything from assisting class instructors, to teaching young rock campers how to play an instrument for the first time, to running door or ushering for performances, to maintaining the ZACC Print Shop and its variety of equipment. Our volunteers are the bedrock of the ZACC, and without them we wouldn’t be able to provide the array of programming our community has come to count on.

If you are interested in volunteering at the ZACC, we’d love to hear from you. In addition to the ongoing commitments described above, there are also several opportunities to lend a hand throughout the year – like our annual Mini Show and the Missoula Monster Project, or tabling sessions at schools and other community events.

However you’d like to help out, we value your contribution, and we offer vouchers for classes and events in payment for your service. Volunteering at the ZACC will help you pay to take classes that interest you (or help you pay for a family member’s attendance), or pay for your attendance at one of our many performances in the Show Room.

If you’re interested in volunteering at the ZACC, reach out to our Education & Volunteer Coordinator, Joe Kirk, at

And if you’ve volunteered in the past, or are currently volunteering, THANK YOU SO MUCH. We honestly could not do what we do without you. You are an absolute rock star.

Much love,

We believe in the power of the arts to create the human connections, innovations, and healing to make significant positive change in our world and our community, and the ZACC’s programs serving youth, veterans, families, and seniors are on the forefront of that change.
